Information: William Rex Evans, 74, of Route 1, Davisville, died Oct. 1, 1987 in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington. He was born in Gay, a son of the late William S. and Ora E. Carpenter Evans. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from the West Virginia Dept. of Highways and prior to that he was employed with United Barge Lines. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving: wife, Donna Terrell Evans; two daughters, Telina Boyles of Parkersburg and Regina Longwell of Davisville; three step-sons, Roger Godfrey and Robert Curfman both of Parkersburg, Gary Curfman of Davisville; four step-daughters, Denise Godfrey, Valeri Cox and Jackie McElfresh, all of Parkersburg, Christeena Caplinger of Medina; four brothers, Edward Evans of Parkersburg, Oren Evans of Gay, John Evans of Lowell, Ohio, C. S. Evans of Little Hocking, Ohio; one sister, Geneve Wright of Parkersburg; four grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Mae Coberly Evans; one step-son, Ronald Curfman; two brothers, three sisters. Services were Saturday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery, Mineral Wells.
