Information: Funeral services for J. M. Easter were held at the Salt Hill church Sunday afternoon with Rev. L. R. Mahoney of the Ripley United Brethren church and the Rev. W. R. Easter of Boone county in charge and burial followed in the church cemetery. The Vail mortuary had charge of the funeral arrangements. Mr. Easter, who was better known to his friends and acquaintances as ""Mick"", died at his home near Ripley Friday after a long illness. His condition had been serious for some time and death was expected. The following obituary was read at the funeral: James Michael Easter, son of Joseph and Frances Easter, who preceded him in death, was born July 25, 1883, and was called from us 12 September 1941, age 58 years, 1 month and 17 days. Early in life he was married to Lura Walker. To this union was born four children, three of them preceded their father in death. He was later married to Jesse Blanche Bosworth and to this union was born eight children. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. J. M. Easter and the following children: Lester, Harold, Freeman, Edith, Charles, Ralph, Joe, Frances, and Robert, and by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs.W. E. Workman, Mrs. L. C. Walker, Mrs. V. L. Southall, Mrs. J. J. Rhodes, Mrs. J. C. Estep, Mrs. J. L. Miller, Mrs.Alfred Hansen, Mr. D. E. Easter, and Mr. J. H. Easter, and five grandchildren. He was converted and baptized December 1, 1940 by his uncle, the Rev. W. R. Easter. Pallbearers were Joe Easter, Hubert Easter, Roy Easter, Dennie Easter, Delmer Workman and Earl Workman.
