  <p>Information: George Washington Atkisson, 86, of Romance, died Saturday morning in Charleston General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in West Virginia, the son of the late Prince A. and Mahalia Shamblin Atkisson, he was a retired farmer and member of the Advent Goff Church in Romance. Funeral services were held Monday at Parsons Funeral Home Chapel, Ripley, and burial in Atkisson Family Cemetery at Romance. Survivors include his widow, Frances Thomas Atkisson, four sons, Alfred of Sissonville, Arnold of Cooper&#39;s Creek, Clarence of Smith Creek and Adam of Romance; one stepson, Earl Sturgell of Charleston; seven daughters, Mrs. Frona Lanham of Romance, Mrs. Devona Southall of Kentuck, Mrs. Lona Billings of Montgomery, Ala., Mrs. Edith Reynolds of Kenna, Mrs. Freddie Robinson of Palestine, Mrs. Sybil Ingram of Advent, and Mrs. Ethel Sayre of Evans; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Belva Hitt of Baltimore, Md.; one halfbrother, Arnold Comer of Charleston; three sisters, Mrs. Rosetta Scarberry of Culloden, Mrs. Ethel Ray of Charleston, and Miss Cloretta Moore of Charleston; 38 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.      	 </p>
