Information: Dennis Leroy Durst, 74, of Ripley, died Friday morning in Jackson General Hospital in Ripley. He was born July 3, 1898, in Cottageville, son of the late Henry and Annis Ankrum Durst and was a retired employe of Dravo Corp. after 25 years of service and a retired farmer. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Estella Parsons Durst; five daughters, Mrs. Josephine Kay of Tallmadge, O., Mrs. Mildred Casto of Ripley, Mrs. Joan Walters of Columbus, O., Mrs. Genevieve Jacober of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Helen Braden of Cottageville; four sons, Junior and Donnie, both of Akron, O., Dewin of Reedsville, O., and Leroy of Pt. Pleasant; nine brothers, Pete of Ravenswood, Cecil, Henry, Click, Eudell, Lloyd and Jack, all of Cottageville, Roy of Marmet and Bevin of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Hunt of S. Charleston and Mrs. Margaret Stephens and Miss Lora Durst, both of Cottageville; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Anderson Durst, in 1961 and one son, Eugene in 1970. The funeral service was held Sunday at the Casto Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Winkler and Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating and the burial was in Blaine Memorial Cemetery at Cottageville.
