  <p>Information: Mrs. Carrie Balis Duke, 86, of Sandyville, died Saturday, April 23, 1988, in Whetstone Convalescent Center, Columbus, Ohio, after a long illness.  She was born in Jackson County and was a member of Odaville Church of Christ, Sandyville.  She was a former Wood County schoolteacher.  Surviving: daughter, Bernice Lyon of Columbus; brothers, Church Balis and Clyde Balis, both of Sandyville, Ray Balis of Ravenswood.  Service will be 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Evangelist Denver Haught officiating.  Burial will be in Odaville Cemetery.   *Daughter of Nemiah and Mary Wilkinson Balis.</p>
