Information:   Funeral services were held at the Belpre EUB Church on Tuesday for George E. Dowler, 83, Belpre, who died at the Arcada Rest Home, Coolville, Ohio on Saturday, following an extended illness. Born in Jackson County on March 23, 1881, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dowler, having lived most of his life in Belpre.  For 30 years, he worked for the Parkersburg Steel Company and was a member of the EUB church of Belpre for many years. He owned and operated the Belpre Heights Service Station. He served two terms as County Commissioner, Washington County, Ohio and was past president of the Belpre Chamber of Commerce. For two years, he served as president of the Belpre Board of Education. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Shaffer, Belpre, Mrs. Olga Jones, Parkersburg and Mrs. Bert Walker, Vienna; a sister, Mrs. Earl Sommerville, Parkersburg; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. My golf Ones son, Leslie Dowler, preceded him in death. The Rev. George out of Bell and the Rev. Albert R. Jang of Huntington officiated at the service and burial was in Rockland Cemetery.
