Information: Funeral services for John R. Dixon, 73, were held from the Otterbein church on Friday afternoon with Rev. W. W. Harvey of the Epworth church in Ripley in charge and burial was in the church cemetery.  The Vail undertakers had charge of the arrangements for the funeral.  Mr. Dixon, a widely known resident of Jackson county, died at a Spencer hospital on Wednesday.  He had been in failing health for several years.  He had lived at Evans for many years, and until his retirement from active business had operated the McDade Produce business there which at one time was one of the big produce and poultry marketing centers in this area.  On December 9, 1900, Mr. Dixon married Minerva J. Sayre who preceded him in death about 25 years ago.  Surviving are four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Gladys Grady of Evans, Mrs. Mary Ruble and Mrs. Freda Headley of Parkersburg, Mrs. Ruth Bennett of Arkadephia, Arkansas, Blonda Dixon of Evans, Boyd Dixon of Neville Island, Pa., and Russell Dixon of Cleveland, Ohio.
