Information: WIDELY KNOWN POET DIES SUDDENLY - Miss Olive Divers, 70, of Rt 2, Ravenswood, one of the state's foremost poets, died unexpectedly Friday at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. Miss Divers for years was a contributor to the HERALD, writing a column, ""The Olive Branch"". Miss Divers was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late John Wirt and Florence Frye Divers. She was a retired poet and writing instructor at the National Institution of America in Mamaroneck, N. Y., and was a member of the Silverton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the West Virginia Poetry Society, the Academy of American Poets, The United Poets Laureate International, Parkersburg and Ripley Lee Mays Chapters and the American Poetry League of Sun City, Ariz. She also had authored several books of poetry. Surviving are five sisters, Neta Carmichael of Belpre, Mrs. Clara Tribett of Pasadena, Md., Mrs. Mildred Moore, Mrs. Gladis Amos and Mrs. Edna Fish, of Ravenswood; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Silverton United Methodist Church with the Rev. V. A. Subramaniam officiating. Interment was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
