  <p>Information: Basil Sheridan Ashby, 78, of Pocatalico, died Nov. 7, 1998, at home after a long illness.  He was retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co.  He was a member, trustee and former deacon of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.  Surviving:  wife, Gustava Faber Ashby; daughters, Sheila Edens of Goldtown, Kay Rogers of St. Albans; sons, Richard and Carroll Ashby, both of Liberty, Averall Ashby of Romance, David Ashby of Gay, Ronnie and Timmy Ashby, both of Sissonville; sisters, Doilene Harper and Lorrene Baldwin, both of Charleston, Wilma Taylor of Walton, Erma Noland of Trenton, Mich., Faye Mitchell of Ripley, Gail Samples of Elkview; brother, Junior Ashby of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.  Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Benny Bess officiating.  Burial will be in Divide Hill Cemetery, Kenna.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice Care Inc., 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.</p>
