  <p>Information: Mrs. Mettie Montgomery Ash, 70, of Sandyville, Jackson County, formerly of West Union, died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Almeda Sheets of Sandyville. She was a retired teacher having taught in Tyler, Wood, Harrison and Wetzel counties. Mrs. Ash also had taught school in Maryland and Ohio. She was a graduate of Salem College and attended West Virginia University graduate school. Mrs. Ash was a member of Big Flint Baptist Church in Doddridge County. Also surviving: sons, Randall B. of West Union, John H. of Traverse City, Mich.; sisters, Mrs. Alice Casto and Mrs. Mary Mitchell, both of Spencer; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley with the Rev. William Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Clarksburg.       </p>
