Information: Ill for two weeks with Rocky Mountain Tick Fever, Mrs. Lena Murial Burdette DeLong, of Murraysville, died last Saturday at a Parkersburg hospital. She was 51 years old. The death was the first in several years in this section to be caused by tick fever. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Ebenezer Church with the Rev. J. M. Fox of Ravenswood officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Chamber-Kyger Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. DeLong was born April 26, 1896 in Wood County, the daughter of C. H. and Cora Virginia (Logston) Burdette. She was married in June 1915 and had been a member of the Ebenezer Church since she was a girl. Surviving are her husband, George B. DeLong; her mother, Mrs. C.H. Burdette. four sons, Cyril and Paul of Murraysville; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Pifer of Murraysville and Mrs. Audrey Fifer of Weirton; five brothers, Lloyd Burdette of Murraysville, Everett W., Leonard and Lawrence Burdette, all of Parkersburg, and Michael Burdette of Weirton, and five grandchildren.
