Information: Howard I. (June) Deever, 63, of Parkersburg, died Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg. He was born in Vienna, a son of Belle Hughes Deever of Vienna and the late H. L. Deever, Sr. He was a veteran of WWII and was founder and owner of the Deever Construction Company. He was a trustee and served on the Executive Board of the West Virginia Baptist Convention. He participated in the development of the West Virginia Baptist Conference Center in Ripley; he was a lifetime member of the Vienna Baptist Church and was secretary/treasurer of the 556 Ordnance Company. He is survived by his wife, Gussie Ellen Squires Deever; one son, Bryan Deever of Oxford, Ohio; one daughter, Patricia Deever of Parkersburg; one sister, Burnice Deever of Vienna. He was preceded in death by one brother. Services were held Tuesday at the Vienna Baptist Church. Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery. Vaughn Funeral Home, Parkersburg was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the maintenance of the West Virginia Baptist Center in Ripley at P.O. Box 1019, Parkersburg or to the Memorial Fund of the Vienna Baptist Church.
