  <p>Information: Clyde Vernon Deems, 79, 226 Race St., Ravenswood, died Friday evening at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after an extended illness.  He was born Jan. 7, 1896, in Volcano, son of the late John and Martha Shingleton Deems, was a member of the VFW, American Legion Ables-Rayburn Post 118, was retired from B & O Railroad, having worked there over 40 years and was also a World War I veteran.  Survivors include his wife, Rosa Hurd Deems; two sons, William, at home; and Charles R. of Odessa, Tex.; one sister, Stella Cosner of Parkersburg; and two grandchildren.  Services were Monday at Chambers Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Paul V. Bell officiating.  Burial was in Ravenswood Cemetery.</p>
