  <p>Information: William Ray Dean, 74, of Rutland, Ohio, departed this life, May 4, 1999 at his home following an extended illness.  He was born June 18, 1924, at Rio Grande, OH, a son of the late William Randolph and Mary J. (Thornton) Dean.  He was a retired unit foreman from Phillip Sporn at New Haven, WV, a WWII army veteran and Purple Heart recipient, a member of the American Legion Post #467 at Rutland OH, and a member of the Cottageville Masonic Lodge #54, AF & AM.  Surviving are daughters, Saundra Kay (Danny) Tillis and Terresa Lynn (Lee) Wood of Rutland, OH; sister, Helen Wickline of Jackson OH; grandchildren, Heather Rathburn, Joshua Wood, Donny Tillis and Jayme Bickford; great-grandson,  Ezra Rathburn.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene (Sayre) Dean; brother, James Dean; sister, Lucille McDermott; special friend, Adeline Snowden.  Services were Friday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans WV with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating.  Burial in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, with military honors by VFW Post #6669, Ravenswood WV.</p>
