Information:                 Funeral services for William Davis, 69, who died at his home near Evans Saturday, were held from the Longview Church Tuesday with the Rev. W. W. Harvey officiating and the burial was in the church cemetery.  Mr. Davis was a son of the late Isaac and Louisa Campbell Davis, and was a native of Jackson County.  He married Verna Kessel on July 24, 1907 and they had lived  in the vicinity of Evans since their marriage.  Survivors, in addition to the widow, are a son, William Kessel Davis of Evens; two daughters, Mrs. Madaline Allen and Mrs. Opal Escue, both of Charleston; three half-brother, Oscar Davis, Benny Davis of Boomer and Oley Davis of Winfield; three half-sisters, Mrs. Rena Barr and Mrs. Mary King, both of Thornville, Ohio and Mrs. Georgia Ferguson of Red House, and two grandchildren, Mary Ann Allen of Charleston and Donnis Carol Davis of Evans.  (Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection)
