Information: OKEY CUNNINGHAM DIES AT HIS HOME - Okey K. J. Cunningham, age 71, died at his home near Ripley Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the home Friday by Rev. Mahoney and burial was made in the Pine Hill Cemetery. The Vail Mortuary had charge of the body. Mr. Cunningham had been losing his health for the past year or more. But lately he had become very seriously ill. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Ethel Cornell, East Liverpool, Ohio, Cora Winkle, Glen Falls, N. Y., Nellie Hoots, Warmock, Ohio, Mabel Landfried, Ripley, Hazel Hanning, Fairplain; Warren, Okey and Mary, at home. He is also survived by one brother, William Cunningham, Mrs. Nellie Phillips, Ravenswood, Nora Dailey, East Liverpool, Virginia Young, Lost Creek. JACKSON HERALD June 14, 1940 - AGED FARMER STROKE VICTIM - Two days after he suffered a stroke at his home near Ripley on Route 33, O. J. Cunningham, a well known farmer of that section, died Wednesday morning at the age of 71 years. He had been in ill health for about two years. Mr. Cunningham was born November 19, 1868 at Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Elias A. and Mary Roush Cunningham. He moved to Jackson county at an early age and had resided on the farm on which he died for more than a half century. On May 27, 1890, he was married to Cordelia Phillips, to which union three children were born, two of whom, Mrs. Ethel Crnell of East Liverpool, Ohio and Mrs. Cora Winkle of Glens Falls, New York, survive. Besides his wife, Martha Merical Cunningham, he is also survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hoots, of Warnock, Ohio; Mrs. Mabel Landfried, of Ripley; Mrs. Hazel Hanning, of Fairplain; and Mary Cunningham, at home; two sons, Warren and Okey Cunningham, at home; one brother, W. E. Cunningham, of Ripley; and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Phillips, of Ravenswood; Mrs. Nora Dailey of East Liverpool, Ohio and Mrs. Virginia Young, of Lost Creek, W. Va. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the home with Reverend L. R. Mahoney officiating. Burial will be made at Pine Hill cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Vail mortuary.
