Information: Van Buren Cummings, 81, of Kenna, died March 6, 1988, in General Division of CAMC after a long illness.  He was retired from Broughton's Farm Dairy and also from the City of Tampa, Fla.  He was a member of Fisher Memorial Church, Goldtown, and a charter member of Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene and Elk River Church of the Nazarene.  Surviving:  wife, Tressa Surface Cummings; sons, Orville of Tallahassee, Fla., Dallas of Zephyrhills, Fla., Darrell of Spencer, Ronald of Columbus, Ga., Glen of Longwood, Fla., and Harold of Tampa; daughters, Frances Batten of Kenna, Della Gunno of Charleston, Carol Pritt of Tampa; sisters, Hallie Atkins of Sissonville, Goldie Surface and Madge Young, both of South Charleston, Loraine Hill of Ashland, Ky., Juanita Davis of Charleston; 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  Service was Tuesday at Fisher Memorial Church, Goldtown, with the Rev. Clarence Edens and the Rev. I. L. Hemmings officiating.  Burial was in Surface Cemetery, Charleston.  Elk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
