Information: IN MEMORIAM - Died--On Monday, September 13, 1880 at 11:30 a.m., Mrs. Eliza Armstrong, wife of Jacob L. Armstrong, in the 46th year of her age.  It is impossible to write the life of a good woman, it is difficult and sorrowful to write her obituary.  It is not necessay to tell that to any man who has a good wife, or any child who has a good mother and where is the man who will say that his wife was not a good wife, and what child is it that will say that he has not a good mother?  No one...........born will thus deny his friendship or his birth, much less his love.      Mrs. Armstrong was born in Bath county, Virginia, on the 29th day of January, 1834.  She came to Jackson county in the year 1844 and married Jacob L. Armstrong, July 24, 1851.  She united herself with the church M. E. South in 1867 and ramained a consistent member of that sojourning place until her Master called her home.  She was a daughter of William G. Ayres, a sister to Mrs. S. B. Greer, and a half sister to Mrs. John Love and Mrs. John G. ?.  She was the mother of Mrs. Jennie B. Riley, wife of W. W. Riley, and Holly O., William L. and Vaught Armstrong, besides other children dead.  After a long and painful illness, she finally surrendered her spirit to Him who gave it, and who guarded it, and kept it, and promised to save it, for so many years--to Him who keeps his promises.  She retured to Him as a child going home, and her last words to her family were for them to meet her in Heaven.
