Information: Herman Cummings, 67, of Cottageville, died January 5, 1988, after a long illness.  The son of the late Grover and Laura Smith Cummings, he was a retired construction worker with Operating Engineers Local 132, and a Navy veteran of World War II.  Surviving: wife, Allene; sons, Dr. Rex A. and Robert both of Ravenswood; daughters, Rita Winter, Jean Balliett, Marilyn Clendenin and Helen Sharp, all of Ripley, and Carolyn Parrish of Fairplain; brother, Coy of Statts Mill; grandchildren, Brent and Beth Winters, Carrie Clendenin, Michelle Balliett, Wendi Sharp, Kimberly Parrish, Allen and Christopher Cummings. Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.
