Information: Dorsey Cummings, 49 year old farmer and livestock producer of Reedyville, died as a result of injuries received Saturday afternoon when he was injured by a heavy piece of road machinery which is being used in the rebuilding of the Ripley-Spencer road. The accident happened at Peniel. The injured man was rushed to a Spencer hospital but died within a few hours. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial was in the cemetery there. According to those who witnessed the accident, Cummings, who had been a part-time employee of the State Road Commission, slipped and fell under a tar spreader and was rolled out of sight underneath the heavy machine. When he was extricated it was found that one of his feet was almost amputated and his body was badly crushed. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Mabel Cummings, one son, Richard, at home, two brothers, Elza and Boyd Cummings, of Reedyville, two sisters, Mrs. John Norman of Spencer, and Mrs. Molly Burdette of Fairmont.
