Information: RAVENSWOOD-- Madalene ""McMaster"" Crum, 85, of Ravenswood, WV, departed this life June 9, 2000, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness. She was born October 17, 1914, at Ravenswood, WV, a daughter of the late Dr. James A. And Effie (Pringle) McMaster. She was a 1932 graduate of Ravenswood High School, a former clerk for Slaven's Store and Boso and Ritchie Hardware. She was a former bookkeeper for Ravenswood Wholesale Grocery. She was a WWII US Army veteran having served in the Women's Army Corp. from 1943-1946. She was a member of the Ables Reyburn Post #118 of the American Legion and was also a member of the post Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Jackson County Historical Society and one of the curators for the Washington Lands Museum. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Ravenswood where she served as teacher, treasurer, deaconess and elder. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Karl Crum and one brother William J. McMaster. Graveside services will be held today Wednesday, June 14,2000, at 11 a.m. at Ravenswood Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Morton officiating with a flag presentation by VFW Post #6669, Ravenswood. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the First United Presbyterian Church, 601 South Ritchie Avenue, Ravenswood, WV 26164. Arrangements by Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV.
