  <p>Information: Berlin Crawford, 87, of Evans, formerly of Spencer, died September 9, 1997 in Jackson General Hospital after a long illness.  He served as an Army Signal Core Staff Sgt. in World War II.  He was employed for 16 years as a manager for Kroger, and later employed as a manager for NAPA.  Surviving:  wife, Garnet Tanner Crawford; son, James Dee ""JD"" Crawford of Evans; brothers, Earl Crawford of Grantsville and Don Crawford of Barberton OH; sisters, Edra Hoskins of Magadore OH, Tressie Church of Arnoldsburg, and Beatrice Shaffer of Millstone; granddaughters, Staci Donohew and Brandi Randolph of Ripley; 4 great-grandchildren.  Casto Funeral Home in Evans will be in charge of arrangements.</p>
