Information: Ivan Ray Crank, 94, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 in Maitland, Fla. Ivan was born Dec. 5, 1919 in Sissonville, son to the late Basil and Hattie (Higginbottom) Crank. He was a farmer and owner/operator of Oh-Kan Dairy in Henderson. Ray was very active with both the Farm Bureau as well as the WVU Extension Service. He had a love for the Mason County Fair and both supported and participated for many years with his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. While in Mason County he served on the founding board and was very instrumental in establishing Pleasant Valley Hospital. In 1969 he and his wife, Phoebe Elizabeth, moved to central Florida where he established Crank Construction. Ray was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and spent the summers in his later years at home on the farm in Henderson. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phoebe Elizabeth, and a grandson, Mark Jarrett. Surviving are his son, Jack (Betsy) Crank of Henderson; daughters, Sandy Jarrett of Casselberry, Fla., and Judy (Ralph) Nelson of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home.
