Information: Death Takes Isaac Adams Prominent Parkersburg Attorney Was Born Here; Services Held on Friday Isaac Maxwell Adams, a native of Ravenswood, died May 23 at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, and funeral services were held Friday by the Rev. William M. Ferry at the home. Burial was in the Mount Olive Cemetery. He had been a resident of Parkersburg for 37 years and was a prominent attorney there. Mr. Adams was born Sept. 4, 1888, at Ravenswood and was admitted to the West Virginia bar in Parkersburg in 1913. The son of Isaac Maxwell Adams, Sr., and Mrs. Hollis Belle Park Adams, he was a graduate of West Virginia law school and took post graduate work at Harvard. His father was a captain in the Union army during the Civil War and was a former sheriff in Jackson County. In 1919 Adams became a member of the law firm of Kreps, Russell, and Hiteshew. The firm later became the law firm of Russell, Hiteshew, and Adams. Mr. Adams was a former commissioner of chancery in Wood County and treasurer of the State Bar association. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 15, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 198, the Mount Olivet Masonic Lodge, the Rotary Club and the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Edward M. Adams of Cloverport, Ky., two daughters, Mrs. John S. Cather and Mrs. Robert T. Goldenberg, both of Parkersburg; a brother, Thomas E. Adams of Montebello, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Price of Ravenswood, Mrs. L. Bradley Spaun of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Lee C. Deming of Fullerton, Calif. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Laura Kathyleen Adams and Hollis Park Goldenberg.
