Information: Funeral services were held Sunday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. John Holbert officiating for Ulysses Grant Archer, 86, 1324 36th St., who was pronounced dead on arrival last Wednesday at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta, Ohio. Born in Jackson County, a son of the late Nathan and Mary Collins Archer, he was a member of the Woodmen of the World Mt. Olivet Lodge 3, A.F. & A.M., and Stout's Memorial Methodist Church where he taught the Men's Bible class for many years. Archer retired from Parkersburg Rig and Reel following 35 years of service. Survivors include one son, Gene Archer, Brookville, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Cecele Wesel, Corte Madera, Calif., and Mrs. Irene Ross, Parkersburg; one sister, Mrs. Rose Lyon, Parkersburg; seven grandchildren and one greatgranddaughter.
