Information: "SLIM"" COTTRILL IS TAKEN SUDDENLY - Alfred Lee (Slim) Cottrill, 68, died suddenly without warning of a heart attack at his Ravenswood home on Wednesday night.  He was an employee of the river lock system for 27 years, retiring as assistant lockmaster of Ohio Lock 22 at Ravenswood in 1955.  He was a veteran of World War I and belonged to Walton Memorial Church in Ravenswood.  Born Feb. 14, 1895, in Doddridge county, he was a son of the late William and Sarah Williams Cottrill.  Mr. Cottrill was a member and chaplain of Abels-Rayburn American Legion Post No. 118, and was a commander four different times.  He was vice commander of American Legion fourth district.  Mr. Cottrill also belonged to VFW Post 6669 in Ravenswood and the Veterans of World War I organization here.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna Fling Cottrill; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Shaver, Cumberland, O.; a sister, Mrs. Sam Wildman, Belleville; and five grandchildren.  The funeral service was held Saturday at the Chambers funeral home with Rev. Paul Beal and Rev. Ottis Linger officiating and the burial was in Ravenswood cemetery.
