  <p>Information: Hugh Corns, 72, of Elizabeth, died Tuesday in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness.  He was the brother of Gilbert, Richard and Carl Corns, all of Sandyville.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late James and Ruth Miller Corns.  He was a retired carpenter and a member of Carpenters Union No. 1477 of Middletown, O.  He was a World War II veteran.  He is also survived by two sons, Charles David Corns of Elizabeth and Billy Lee Corns of Enon, O.; one daughter, Vernice Patty Hickman of Elizabeth; one additional brother, William Corns of Canal Winchester, O.; four sisters, Ernestine Johnson of Sissonville, Merle Griffith of Tuppers Plains, O., Bessie Higgins of Vienna and Annie Cooper of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.  Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Paul Parsons officiating.  Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.  Friends may call at the funeral home aftere 2 p.m. today (Wednesday).</p>
