Information: Jackson ""Jack"" Archer, 90, of Loogootee, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior, and the love of his life, his wife, Bonnie, on July 27, 2012 at 12:30 pm at the Loogootee Nursing Center.  He was born October 3, 1921 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to Lucas and Oda (Hall) Archer.  He married Bonnie Smith on December 20, 1958 in Shoals, Indiana, and she preceded him in death October 30, 2006.  Jack was a proud Veteran of the United States Army.  He served with the 605th Medical Clearing Company in World War II in New Guinea, South Philippines, Luzon and Leyte.  He received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars.  He received the Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal in addition to the previously mentioned medals.     Jack was a member and faithful attendee of Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee and he served as a Republican Precinct Committeman for thirty years.  He received an award for 65 years as a member of the #669 Sprinkler Fitters Road Union, after 37 years as a Sprinkler Fitter.  Twenty-two of those years he served as a foreman.     He will be deeply missed by his family including;  Larry and Heather Archer of Thornton CO, Deann Gibilato of California, Randy and Tracy Archer of Washington, Kevin and Gloria Kirk of Odessa, Texas, Patty and Buddy Thomas of Loogootee, Mike and Debby Kirk of Loogootee and Shelia and Jim Lilly of Loogoottee IN.  He leaves behind two sisters to whom he was very close to, Oletta Golmitz of Lore City, Ohio and Pearl Tallman of Ravenswood WV; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; plus a host of friends who also survive him.  His beloved wife and best friend, Bonnie; his parents, Lucas and Oda (Hall) Archer; one grandson, Joshua Kirk, and a sister, Alice Pritchett, precede him in death.  Visitation was from 4-8 pm on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Lee Funeral Home in Loogootee.  Funeral services were at 11 am. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee.  Visitation from 10 am until the service where Pastor Jim Lilly officiated.  The Loogootee American Legion and V.F.W. will conduct military rites at Goodwill Cemetery, where Mr. Archer was entombed.  Condolences may be made online at www.gueenlee.com.
