Information: Mrs. James Combs, of Millwood, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home there early Wednesday morning.  She had not been in good health, members of the family said, but her death was a shock to the family and friends.  Mrs. Combs, who was the former Nancy Shinn, a daughter of Justice and Mrs. A. A. Shinn, of Evans, was an estimable young woman and in her death her community suffers an irreparable loss. The husband arose early Wednesday morning and was in another room of the home when he heard the wife call and went to her and found that she was ill.  He called a physician and when he returned to the room she was dead.  The husband, James Combs, and two children, David and Imogene, survive.  Also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Shinn, of Evans; a brother, Rome Shinn, also of Evans; and the following sisters, Mrs. Verdie Combs, of Huntington, and Miss Venna Shinn, of Cleveland, Ohio.  Funeral arrangements had not been completed yesterday afternoon but members of the family said that it was fairly certain that the service would be at Otterbein church and that burial would follow in the cemetery there.   [from the Betty Kessel McLaughlin obit collection]
