Information: Ova Coleman, 80, of Goldtown, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2002, dued to complications following open heart surgery. She was born March 27, 1922, the daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Ingram of Sissonville. She was married for 53 years to the late James Brownie Coleman. Together they owned and operated Coleman's Grocery at Goldtown for 42 years. She is survived by her son, Joe Coleman and his wife, Karen, of Scott Depot; her daughter, Donna Leaptrot and her husband Kenny of Goldtown; her step-daughter, Sharon Nelson and her husband John of Bristol WV; her grandchildren, J. R. Coleman of Pittsburgh, Kristi Coleman of Scott Depot, Brendon, Katie and Andrew Leaptrot of Goldtown, Michael Nelson of Charleston, Steve Nelson of Bristol, and Scott Nelson of Morgantown; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Reba Jones, of Sissonville. Funeral services were held Monday, October 21, 2002, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Rev. Aaron Jones officiating. Burial beside her husband in Fisher Cemetery, Goldtown.
