Information: James A. Cole, 71, of Sherman, died Monday, Aug. 29, 1988, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness. He was born in Tacoma, Wash., and was a graduate of Oregon State College. He was a metallurgical engineer formerly with Boeing. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 30 years' service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ravenswood, where he was a member of the choir. He was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi fraternity and the American Metallurgical Society. Surviving: daughters, Mary Kathleen Philbin of Boston, Mass., Jacqueline Payne of Lansing, Mich., Margaret Sauger of Philadelphia, Pa.; son, Gerald of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Mary Lou Ring of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at First United Methodist Church, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Samuel E. Starling, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, is in charge of arrangements.
