Information: Chester Ray Coen, 71, of Ripley, died Saturday, October 12, 2002, at Jackson General Hospital.  He was born July 3, 1931, in Sandyville, a son of the late William Franklin and Myrtle Marie Jewell Coen.  He was a member of Independence United Methodist Church and a former employee of Fisher Chevrolet and Monumental Ins. Co.  He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge for over thirty years.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years years, Pearl Hinzman Coen; son, David Coen and wife Hope of Merritt Island FL; daughters, Nancy Smith and husband Larry of Ripley, Kathy Marlow and husband Tom of Ripley, and Helen Groves and husband Bob of Sandyville; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.  Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, October 16) at 1:00 p.m. at Vail Funeral Home in Ripley with the Rev. Stephen Rhoades and the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Jackson County.
