Information: LIBERTY - Marvin Lee Cochran, 76, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2010 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston WV after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Jewell Halstead Cochran, brothers, Harry ""Junior"" Cochran and Curtis Cochran, Sr. He worked as a machinist for Douglas Barrels and retired in 1998 after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine Cochran; brothers, Dorsel (Ella Jane) Cochran of Kenna and Dennis (Diane) Cochran of Ripley; sisters, Marcelene (Royal) Starcher of Liberty and Glennis Farmer of Sandyville; children, Kathy (Billy) Kersey of Liberty, Jeff (Greta) Cochran of Kenna, David (Belinda) Cochran of Ripley, Galen Cochran and Vonda Cochran, both of Liberty; grandchildren, Brian (Crystal) Cochran, Amanda (Jody) Jones, Timothy (Heather) Kersey, Jessica Cochran, April (Brad) Garnes, Matthew Cochran and Nicole Stevens; step-grandchildren, Tracy Kersey and Curtis Allen and Elizabeth Raines; great-grandchildren, Austin, Brandon and Cater Cochran, Dalton and Emily Jones, Hannah Kersey, Lillian and Carolina Stevens and Baby Girl Garnes on the way; step-great-grandchild, Gabrielle Morford. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, October 5, at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley with Billy Kersey officiating. Emtombment will in in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Given. Friends called from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Marcelene and Royal Starcher for their love and support shown to the family throughout his illness. They would also like to thank the staff in the MICU at CAMC General Hospital and the staff at Hubbard Hospice House for their care of Marvin during his illness. Donations to Hubbard Hospice House.
