  <p>Information: John Edward Cobb, 86, of Statts Mills, departed this life September 20, 2002, at Eldercare of Ripley, following an extended illness.  He was born January 21, 1916 in Belgrove WV, a son of the late Thomas and Sylvia Casto Cobb.  He was retired from True Temper and was a member of the Salvation Army for more than 35 years.  He was a farmer and a Baptist.  Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Lucy G. Brown Cobb; sons, John Alton Cobb, Wilbur Cobb, and Michael Herald Cobb, all of Statts Mills, David Ketih Cobb of Lynchburg VA, and Edward Lee Cobb of Tornado WV; daughters, Mary Ganiel of Statts Mills, Minerva ""Jo-Jo"" Jewell Gunter of Richmond VA, and Leona Gail Thornton of Red House; brother, Russell Cobb of Sissonville; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by brothers, Everett, Art, Sherman and Raymond; sisters, Lucille and Loraine.  Graveside services were held Sunday, September 22, 2002, in the Plainview Cemetery, Kenna WV with Rev. Billy Casto officiating.  Arrangements were provided by Casto Funeral Home, Evans WV.</p>
