Information: Corbet O. (Corby) Cleek, 70, of Portland, Ohio, formerly of Kenna, passed away Monday, December 14, 1998, in Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division, in Charleston after a massive stroke at his home. He was a life-long carpenter who served his community well, an avid fox hunter and close friend of his fellow hunters. Born on May 6, 1928, the son of the late Otis and Elizabeth Skeen Cleek. He lived 63 years at Portland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parens, one brother, John Cleek and one sister, Delcie Proffitt of Portland, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. (Jenny) Stewart Cleek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Debbie Cleek and Corbet A. (Cork) and Paige Cleek of Pomeroy OH; and one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Tom Diddle of Racine OH; four sisters, Edyth Parsons of Charleston, Belle and Hobart Raines and Grace and Arnold Williams of Kenna, Waynita and Charles Harris of Portland OH; one brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Margaret Cleek of Columbus OH; and a sister-in-law, Macie Cleek, of Portland OH; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and 14 step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was president of Lebanon Township Trustees, Alladin Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Shriners of Columbus, Ohio, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2171, Pomeroy-Racine Lodge #164 Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio, Millright Local 1241. He attended the Syracuse Church of the Nazarene.32 York Rite Mason. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, with Pastor Robert Coen and the Rev. Robert Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Stonelick Cemetery, Kenna. Masonic funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 8:30 p.m. by the Pomeroy-Racine Lodge #164 A.F. & A. M. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Corby's memory to the Syracuse Church of the Nazarene, State Route 124, Syracuse, OH 45779.
