Information: The death of the one whose name appears at the head of these lines was the occasion of profound grief and regret by a wide circle of friends.  She was born in this county, Februaty 17, 1880; died at Case, W. Va. October 19, 1896; aged 16 years, 6 months and 2 days.  She was a daughter of the late Capt. H. M. Childs, whose death occurred some years ago.  She leaves a step father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Chase and several brothers and sisters to mourn their irreparable loss.  Jessie made friends of all she met and retained them.  Her greatest happiness was the pleasure she experienced by making others happy.  She was a devoted daughter, a loving and unselfish sister and a true friend.  She showed her pure spirit in her every day life.  Hers was a life of good deeds; a constant preparation for heaven, and when the summons came she met death without a murmur but with the smile of peace shining on her face.  Jessie has left a noble past and a blessed hope of a happy reunion only a little way in the future.  This gives her frineds more earnest longings for the ""bright beyond"". The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near Chase, Tuesday last.
