Information: Mrs. Mary Ann, wife of E. Chidester, Esq. , aged 56 years and 11 months. Mrs. Chidester, was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and ex-member...........With her religion was the one thing..........and it was her chief aim of her life to cultivate those christian graces which adorned her character, rendered her useful in life, and comforted and sustained her in the solemn hour of death. Her parents before her were eminently pious, and the influence of their good example have now been apparent in the happy death of their daughter, who is now reunited with them in Heaven. Mrs. Chidester was a constant reader of the Bible. Her mother some years since had presented her with a Bible, and upon a blank leaf is recorded the fact of its having been read through by Mrs. C. eight times. Mrs. Chidester, was a kind and sympathizing friend. She was ever ready to assist the poor and sick, and......comfort to those in affliction. Her death will be deeply lamented by a large circle of friends and acquaintances, while her loss to the Church of which she was so consistent a member is most irreparable. We know that all who knew her will feel in condole with her family now so sadly bereaved. All the medical skill, kind and unrelenting nursing could do and affection.......exerted for her recovery, but without avail. The kind neighbor, this devoted wife and mother, and the unwavering, but humble christian----for she was all these---has fallen .....in Jesus. Her work on earth is done. (remainder unreadable)
