Information: Benjamin V. Cedar, Jr., 76, of Ravenswood WV, passed away on March 1, 2015 in Ripley WV.  He was born on November 15, 1938 in Marianna PA, a son of the late Benjamin V. Cedar, Sr. and Mary Ann Bove Cedar.  Ben was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ravenswood, where he was the organ player.  Ben also volunteered his time in several different areas of the church.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He became a self-taught accordion player at an early age.  He met the love of his life, Elsie, his best catch ever, while playing polka music with his band in Elizabeth PA.  He worked for Beneficial Finance and began his affiliation with Kirby Sweepers.  He was in sales and repair of Kirby and other brands.  He worked at Ravenswood News in advertising and distribution.  He was also involved in rentals until his death.  He enjoyed fishing as a hobby, as he took many Canadian fishing trips with his friends.  He loved to help others, always with a smile.  He especially enjoyed trips to the beach and other special times with his family.      Surviving are his wife, Elsie Cedar, Ravenswood WV; sons, Robert A. (Diana) Moresea, Ravenswood, Jeffery B. (Cindy) Cedar, New Mexico, and Kenneth W. (Vanese) Cedar, Ravenswood; grandchildren, Matthew Craig, Eric Christopher, and Marcus Shane Moresea; Natalie, Nathan and Rebecca Cedar, Andrew, Michael and Christina Foster, Roman, Kyle, Justin, Heaven and Nathan Cedar; nephew, Chris (Jen) Cedar; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carmen Louis Cedar.  Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 12:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ravenswood with Father Pen officiating.  Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery.  Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood WV, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to service at the church on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adopt-A-Family, c/o St. Matthew Catholic Church, Ravenswood WV 26164.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at roush94@yahoo.com or on www.facebook.com/roushfuneralhome.
