Information: Dr. Wendell E Casto, 82, of Ripley, died Saturday at Jackson General Hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was a dentist in Ripley for more than 50 years.  A graduate of Cincinnati College of Dental Surgery, he also attended Ohio University, Ohio State University and West Virginia University.  He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley; past master of Ripley Masonic Lodge; a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, past post commander and past district commander of the American Legion and served as commander of Wheeling Hut No. 1.  Hew as a veteran of World War I and World War II, was a former Ripley city councilman, and was a member of the America, West Virginia, and Kanawha Dental Associations.  Survivors inclue two sons, James V. Casto of Westerville, Ohio, and Phillip E. Casto of Ripley; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Rhodes of Statts Mill; a sister, Mrs. Madeline Parsons of Ripley; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  The body was cremated.  A memorial service will be conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley, on Sunday, July 5, at 2 p.m.  Vail Funeral Home of Ripley was in charge of arrangements.
