Information: Mrs. Omal D. Casto, 54, wife of Early Casto of Ripley, died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday morning at their farm home near Rockcastle where they had gone to spend the weekend. The funeral service was held at Emma Chapel Church Monday, with Rev. Shirley Hammack officiating and burial with the Vail funeral directors in charge was in the church cemetery. Her husband operates the ACP offices in Ripley. She was born at Given on Sept. 13, 1910, a daughter of Bascom and Ruth Kessel Painter. She was a member of the Walnut Grove EUB Church of Given. Surviving: husband, Early H. Casto of Ripley; stepsons, Carl Casto of Harrisonville, Ohio, Arthur of Columbus, Ohio, Hoy of Ripley, Buford of Given; step-daughters, Mrs. Carmen Bonnett of Liberty, Mrs. Margie Lee Gillispie of Nitro, Mrs Emogene Smith of Cottageville; brothers, Ivan Painter of Eleanor, Otho of Nitro, Cloyd of Tyler Mountain, Estel, Ray and Lexie of Given; sisters, Mrs. Wavie Casto of Dunbar, Mrs Avalee Mangus of Tyler Mountain, Mrs. Pearl Casto and Mrs. Addie Starcher of Given, Mrs. Palestine Starcher of Liberty. Mrs. Casto had been afflicted for some time with a serious heart ailment. The Castos lived at Ripley, but frequently visited at their farm home for weekends. Reports indicated that an unusually large crowd attended the funeral.
