Information: Funeral services were held at the Mt. Calvary church last Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Virgie O. Casto, who died at her home near Staats Mills on Tuesday.  A short service was held at the home also.  Rev. J. R. Withrow of Ripley, conducted the services at Mt. Calvary.  The services at the home were conducted by Rev. T. O. Powers, a life long friend and neighbor of the family.  A large crowd was present.  Ocia Victoria Casto, daughter of J. K. and Lucinda A. Thomas Casto, was born May 30, 1886 and died March 24, 1936, aged 49 years, 9 months and 24 days.  She was converted and joined the Methodist Brethren church and lived a faithful christian until the end.  She was united in marriage with V. O. Casto on April 22, 1923 and to this union one daughter was born.  She is survived by her husband, daughter, Betty Lou Casto; two sisters, Mrs. Docia Hawk of Ripley and Mrs. Iva Burnem of Charleston; one brother, Kenna Casto of East Liverpool, Ohio.  Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.   [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection]
