Information: A widely known Jackson County farmer, John Rathburn Casto, died at his home at Kenna Sunday after being in a critical condition since Friday when he suffered a stroke which left no hope of his recovery.  ""Poca John"", as he was familiarly known to thousands in Jackson County, had been in failing health for the past year and the stroke which he suffered on Friday was the third within that period of time. The funeral service was held yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon from the Emma Chapel Church with the Rev. Vaughn Fisher in charge and the burial was in the church cemetery. He was a son of Perry C. and Melissa Fisher Casto, was born 7 May 1869, departed this life June 25, 1950 and had spent his entire life in the Kenna area.  He had been a member of the Watts Chapel Church for 30 years.  On Feb. 11, 1892 he was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Monday.  Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mary Casto, a son, Voyd, of Kenna, a daughter, Mrs. Mance Lewis, of Kenna, five brothers, Richmond Casto of Kenna, Mance Casto of Given, F. H. Casto and Burl Casto, both of Charleston, and Hubert Casto of Poca, three sisters, Mrs. Hettie Boggess of Dudden Fork, Mrs. Rebecca Carney of Liberty and Mrs. Sidney Boggess of Dunbar, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
