Information: DEATH TAKES BOARD PRESIDENT - John R. Casto, president of the board of education of Ripley district, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ada Harrison, at Fairplain last Sunday afternoon, the cause of his death being Bright's disease. He had served both as member and president of the board of education of the district, longer in fact than any other man in the history of educational affairs in the district, it is reported. He was 69 years, seven months and eight days of age at the time of his death. His wife preceded him in death about three years ago. He is survived by the following children, viz: Mrs. Ada Harrison of Fairplain, Mrs. Dallas Harrison of Akron, Mrs. Amy Loney of Charleston, and Edgar Casto of Huntington. Two grand-children, Leslie Smith of Charleston and Madaline Harrison of Fairplain also survive. One brother, E. P. Casto of Ripley, and three sisters, Miss Mattie Casto of Kentuck, Mrs. Georgia Skeen of Charleston and Mrs. Mollie Johns of Kentuck, are other surviving members of his immediate family. The funeral services were held at Fairplain Tuesday morning and burial followed in the Shinn Cemetery at that place.
