  <p>Information:                      Hiram Johnson Casto, more familiarly known to thousands of Ripley and Jackson County as Uncle Jonce, died in a Charleston hospital on Sunday at the age of 87 years and 24 days.  He had broken the bones in one hip in a fall at his Ripley home a few days previous.  The funeral service was held from the Vail Funeral Chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. Roy W. Fisher officiating and the burial was in the Casto Cemetery at Fairplain.  Mr. Casto was a son of Jacob and Celia Winter Casto and was born at Fairplain on Feb. 20, 1862.  Surviving are two sons, Attorney Dale G. Casto and Creel C. Casto, both of Charleston; two daughters, Mrs. Fern Robbins of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. Faust Kerns of Sandyville, and two brothers, I. C. Casto of Fairplain and Homer Casto of Weaversville, North Carolina.  (Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection)</p>
