Information: Mrs. Hazel Casto, 74, of Ripley, died Wednesday in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a short illness. She was born Feb. 17, 1911 at Given, daughter of the late George and Edna Pfost Harpold. She was a retired deputy assessor in Jackson County. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women Deborah Circle, Otterbein Sunday School class and past Sunday School teacher. She was a volunteer at Ripley Library. Surviving: sons, D. Gene and Daniel D., both of Ripley; daughter, Mrs. Howard Chancey of Ripley; brother, Wayne Harpold of Kanawha City; sisters, Mrs. Bernice Fisher of Charleston, Mrs. Velma Seymour of Dunbar, Mrs. Eunice Fisher of Charlotte, N.C., Phyllis Harpold of Oakland, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolan Red Casto. Service was Friday in Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Jackson County. Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or Ripley Library.
