Information: Arden D. Casto, 83, of Given, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness. He was born April 12, 1918, in Putnam County, the son of the late Nathan E. and Bertha Ann Sargent Casto. He was a Christian and a member of Moss Chapel Church. He was a retired school bus driver with Putnam County Schools and was a farmer. He is survived by four sons, Burton Casto of Red House, Roger Casto of Red House, Wendell Casto of Given and Allen Casto of Given; one daughter, Mildred Ferrell of Nitro; two brothers, Eugene Casto of Kenna and Erman Casto of Ohio; four sisters, Mayfrey Greene of Ohio, Catherine Richardson of Dunbar, Freda Pignato of Ripley and Judy Haynes of Liberty; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Pearl Casto; and two brothers, Victor and Letch. Services will be held today (Wednesday, April 10) at 1:00 p.m. at Emma Chapel United Methodist Church in Liberty, with Paul Arthur officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Vail Funeral Home in Ripley.
