Information: Funeral services for Mrs. Starling Casto, of Ripley, were held at the Baptist Temple in Ripley last Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. C. Harold, pastor of the church, in charge, and burial was in the Shinn cemetery at Fairplain. Mrs. Casto died suddenly last Friday afternoon and the death was a shock to the family and her many friends. She had been suffering from influenza for the past two weeks and her physician said that pneumonia developed and she lived only a few hours. She was conscious to the end, members of the family said. The body was removed from the home on Bridge Street Saturday to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Staats, on Church Street, where it lay in state until taken to the church Sunday afternoon. Surviving are the husband, Starling Casto; two small children, Emma Catherine and Sue; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Staats, of Ripley; two sisters, Mrs. Winston Yeager, of Charleston, and Mrs. Wendell Casto, and a host of relatives and friends. [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
