Information: COTTAGEVILLE - Jonah ""Joe"" Castle, Jr., 81, of Cottageville, departed this life August 30, 2011, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division, Charleston, following a brief illness.  He was born October 11, 1929, a son of the late Jonah and Edna (Adams) Castle.  His brothers, Wilbur and Billy, and a sister, Loberta, also preceded him in death.  He was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local #248, Ashland KY.  He was a volunteer at the Resource Connection Outreach Center and attended The Gospel Lighthouse Church in Leon, where he was the song leader.  He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and being with his family.  Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Martha ""Marty""(McKenzie) Castle; sons and daughters-in-law, Owen and Tammy Castle of Ripley WV and Mike and Kim Castle of Oil Springs KY; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Charles Hartley of Cottageville WV, Carol and Tony Mamone of St. Clairsville OH, and Sue Castle of Lexington KY; brothers, David of Swamp Branch KY and James of Van Lear KY; sisters, Brenda Watson of Dayton OH, Faye Lyons of Nippa KY, Kaye Schmidt of Murfreesboro TN, Jan Bone of Leesburg TN, Lorraine Castle of Lexington KY; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville KY, with the Rev. Jim McKenzie officiating.  Burial will follow in the McKenzie Family Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.  Visitation will also  be held at Casto Funeral Home, Evans WV, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011.  Condolences may be sent to castofh@gmail.com.
