Information: Rosetta Carter, daughter of John and Elizabeth Carter, was born near Cottageville, W. Va. April 24, 1873 and died January 4, 1926. Early in life she became a christian and united with the Marvin Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, South, at Ripley Landing, W. Va. and for many years she was a faithful attendant at all church services, but for the last few years she could not attend the church services so much because of her aged mother who needed her care, but she gave evidence that she was steadfast in the faith until the end of the earthly pilgrimage. On Tuesday morning, she was stricken with that dreadful disease, pneumonia fever, and was a great sufferer until the following Monday afternoon when, after all was done that human hands could do, death claimed her as his victim. But it was not victory for death, as we believe, but a ceasing from suffering and entering into eternal rest, joy and peace. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. B. C. Davis of Murraysville, W. Va. at the home on January 6th, after which the body was laid to rest in the Douglass cemetery. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Carter, and four brothers, John, Oak, Levi and Wm. Carter and many relatives and friends. B. F. King
