Information: Funeral services for Okey Verdon Carter, 83-year-old resident of Millwood, were held at the Vail funeral home here Sunday afternoon with Rev. Earl Seamon officiating and the burial was in the Douglas cemetery at Ripley Landing.  Mr. Carter, a son of John and Elizabeth Douglas Carter who were pioneer residents at Ripley Landing, died Thursday at the St. Joseph's hospital.  He was a member of the Cottageville A.F. & A.M. Lodge and for many years was a driller in the gas and oil fields of Texas and other states.  A brother, John, of Millwood, and several cousins are his only survivors.
